My San Francisco Break: Artists. Bloggers. Foodies and Blooms

Hi there. My name is Einat, Travel My San Francisco Break: Artists. Bloggers. Foodies and Blooms

The last couple of weeks have been super hectic around here…
I’ve been all over the city and I also ended up falling in love with a coffee shop but not only for it’s coffee rather than it’s blooming surroundings. Thanks to my friend Sandra, I visited Stable Cafe for the first time and couldn’t stop taking pictures of their garden of succulents. But wait, that was on Wednesday so let’s rewind.

Everybody talked so much about David Hockney: A Bigger Exhibition at the de Young Museum that I had to check it out for myself and… everybody was right! It’s been so long since I was swept off my feet by an art exhibition. I especially loved his landscape videos but unfortunately couldn’t sneak a picture of them ;)

My artistic adventures also took me all the way to Berkley and to the Fourth & Clay Gallery to be exact. My friend Orit is the reason I keep going back to Berkley and she took me to see her ceramic creations at the Holiday White Show. Soon I’ll be writing a post about Orit’s beautiful creations but in the meanwhile I had to share with you my favorite from that show. Crystal Morey (and her human yet fairy like sculptures), Malia Landis (and her ceramic shells), Sara Paloma (and her aristocratic vases) and Christa Assad (and her Middle Eastern precipitations). Do yourself a favor and look them up! I especially loved talking with Christa about her journey. She is one exceptional and inspiring lady with mind blowing awareness.

Next it was time for the Renegade Craft Fair with B aka Bianca. I’ve been dreaming about the Pigeon Toe ceramics for years and during the fair I got to meet these colorful beauties in person and I couldn’t wipe the smile of my face! Of course I also had to buy some as a souvenir.

One of the highlights of my Christmas vacation was when I met up with Polkaros. Do you know her? If your answer is no then you should! Ros has been one of my all times Asian ceramist/textile crush (her ceramic vases are beyond perfection) and by some magical force we became insta-friends. When she told me that she will be visiting San Francisco, I couldn’t be any happier. We met with her other half for a sunny adventure around my favorite neighborhood (aka The Mission) and it was SO MUCH FUN. I can only hope that our next date will be in Tokyo. Fingers crossed!

Are you still here with me? I know, it’s been a crazy month.
A crazy month also calls for a relaxing day at the spa. Don’t you agree? So we hit the road and drove to the Indians Springs in Calistoga and treated ourselves to a Volcanic Ash Mudbath and some down time at their addictive mineral pool. And yes, it was perfection! Not to mention the stop we had to make at the Dean & DeLuca store. After all, we sure love our day trips to be sweet and fattening!
I guess this is it. The most eventful San Francisco Break, ever.
