Ceramics, Israeli Designers zemer peled | connecting dots and shards for a living

in 2014, when i first wrote about the blooming world of ceramist zemer peled, it took me some time to catch my breath. i still remember that feeling.
feathers. petals. leaves. spines. zemer turns them all into a ceramic phenomena. day in and day out she transforms porcelain shards into massive sculptures. but make no mistake, these sculptures are much more than still life. they each have a life of their own. with their out of this world movement and texture, zemer’s creations tell a story. a story of creatures that want to interact with their audience. you’ll want to circle around them and play hide and seek all at the same time.
i can’t imagine the intense labor and will power that one has to have in order to turn all these broken pieces into a nature like creation.
i guess now is the time to mention that zemer just added a shop to her website so if you feel so lucky, try and snag one of her almost immediately sold out beauties.
there’s nothing i could say that will do zemer’s work justice so let’s all take a moment and just stare and admire that magic that is zemer.
