Fashion, Israeli Designers, Student Work Student Break: Galit Barak | A Hidden World Within A Line

Galit Barak isn’t afraid to feel and speak about her fears and pains through her jewelry. And this time with her graduate collection out of the Jewelry Design Department at the Shenkar College is no different.
In [don’t] Cast Me Away, Galit explores the gap between the preservation of the aged body by society and its natural declining and extinction.
“The jewelry in the project was designed by observing abandoned and collapsed buildings, scaffoldings and supporting beams: elements that combine the subjects of extinction and coming death with the field of goldsmith.”
With each and every collection that Galit creates, she manages to bring me one step closer to her unspoken and hidden world. Oh and I didn’t even begin to talk about her delicate lines and her extraordinary minimalistic touch.
