Industrial Design, Israeli Designers Nir Meiri | Delicate Sand

When Nir Meiri first told me of his next adventure, I didn’t know what to expect. Sand molded lamp sounded like a crazy idea that I had to see for myself. SO, the day has come and… “The use of sand as the main material plays on the tension between its wild nature – that of sand storms and vast desserts– and the delicacy of the molded end design. Despite their apparent fragility, the bulbs are sturdy, and their strength partners with that of the fixture’s metal pole.”
BTW, “Desert Storm” is now on show at Qubique Berlin. Did I mention I LOVE the name of the lamp?

Yes, I love it too. It reminds me of fine european pastry, you want to eat it. And there is so much of it. Yum.
I wonder if the light from these lamps is lovely and warm? Like the colour of the sand.
