I’ll be the first to admit that spending two years in the army is no fun and games. In fact, I think I’ve erased it from my memory… but somehow walking down Ezri Tarazi’s military home puts things in perspective. Ezri’s home objects made of battle souvenirs, such as vases made of bomb shells and ashtrays made of bullet shells made me confront my inner demons. Ezri called his imagined home “Kalab”, which stand for close to home in army slang. If you happen to be in Tel-Aviv you can experience it all for yourself at Paradigma Gallery till March 18th. – www.tarazistudio.com |
